Transformer Architectures in Depth

Twenty-four weeks building sequence models from scratch. Tokenisation, embeddings, self-attention, multi-head attention, full training loops, then fine-tuning, quantisation, inference optimisation and paper reproduction at small scale.

Thirty-two weeks for learners moving toward research or applied research roles. Experimental design, ablation discipline, writing for peer review, poster preparation and a full research question carried from survey to presented talk.

Derivations before APIs

Every concept is built from first principles before any library is opened. The goal is understanding the mechanism, not just calling the function.

Code alongside every derivation

Python implementations follow each mathematical result in the same session. Theory and practice are kept in step throughout the course.

Fixed schedules, real deadlines

Cohorts start on a set date and end on a set date. Problem sets are due weekly. This structure is deliberate — most self-study stalls without it.

Small cohorts

Cohort sizes are kept small enough that instructors can read every submission and respond with comments that are specific to the work, not generic.

Misconception panels in every lesson

Each teaching area includes a panel listing the mistakes learners most often make at that point, with brief corrections. Errors are treated as data, not failures.

Who are these courses for?
Each course is aimed at a different point on the learning arc. The mathematics course suits people who can already write Python but find papers hard to follow because the underlying maths is unclear. The architectures course suits engineers who want to build and modify models rather than use off-the-shelf APIs. The research programme is for those with solid modelling foundations who want to contribute to the field or move into applied research roles.
Do I need to attend sessions live?
Replays are available after every live session, so you can catch up if a session conflicts with your schedule. That said, the live sessions include a working-through period where questions can be asked in real time, and most learners find that worth attending when possible.
How much time should I set aside each week?
The mathematics course expects five to six hours a week. The architectures course requires twelve to fourteen hours, including the time needed for code review and the paper reproduction project. The research programme runs at thirteen to sixteen hours a week because of the sustained writing and supervision work. These figures include the live sessions.
What is the fee structure and how do I pay?
Fees are in Malaysian Ringgit: RM 590 for the mathematics course, RM 2,940 for transformer architectures and RM 4,660 for the research programme. Payment is made before the cohort start date. Is there a completion record or certificate?
Every course includes a detailed completion record on finishing the required work. The research programme includes an additional assessed presented talk, and the record for that programme reflects the full scope of the research question carried through it. These records describe the work done; they are not external accreditations.
Are the courses taught in English?
Yes. All sessions, materials, problem sets and written feedback are in English. The forum and cohort channels are also English-medium, though informal exchanges between participants happen in whatever language works for them.
How do I know if my current level is right for a course?
Each course page lists its prerequisites in plain language. If you are still unsure, send a note via the contact form describing your background and what you are trying to learn. We will give you an honest view of whether the timing makes sense or suggest a better starting point.
